Project:
New Building for JCCC Arts + Design Studios

The new Fine Arts + Design Studios building at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) brings together several design disciplines in one location. Carefully planned, the building is intended to serve as a stage for various art installations, while both functionally and visually connecting with the other structures on campus.

For the new 53-meter wide façade, special glass was used, giving the building a highly reflective, white shimmer effect, which also makes it an ideal projection surface for art projects.

Location: 12345 College Blvd | Overland Park | KS 66210 | USA

"Instead of being in the shadow, it glows… This is very interesting because it creates a glowing element on the north side of the building, a side that would normally be in shadow.“ — John Collier, AIA, Associate Principal, BNIM
